For three weeks I have completely forgotten about my kombucha, though it seems it was happily brewing away. Today is a public holiday in South Africa, so it seemed like the perfect time to finally decant the deliciousness!!
I won't pretend that I know everything about kombucha, but what I do know is that kombucha is a probiotic that can be beneficial for our gut health, which is mainly why I drink it, and honestly- I rather like the taste of it :-)
If you have a friend who is brewing kombucha you can get the starter from them (the SCOBY), but in my case I bought the starter kit from Theonista, you can also get it from Wellness Warehouse. It was super easy to use- and I definitely think it was worth buying.
It is easy to make, it gives you some me-time when you do it as a ritual, and it can save you tons of money when you're making your own!
I know there are plenty of trendy health things going on all the time, making the rounds. My only advice is to try something only if you feel and think you should, and not because someone else is doing it. And also- tune into your body when you start using something new. Can you feel a difference in your body? Does it feel good, or bad? If it doesn't feel beneficial, let it go.
Trust yourself and your body.
Have you tried kombucha? Do you like it? Let me know in the chat box to your left:-)
